We aim to empower schools and learners with personalized, one-on-one guidance through evidence-based programs. Our experienced consultants are dedicated to helping schools get the support they need to implement their evidence-based instructional programs for student success as well as supporting administrators through collaborative leadership conversations.

Amy Gulley M.Ed, C.A.L.T, IDA CDS, CERI SLDS
A2 Literacy Consulting and Tutoring was founded by Amy Gulley. Amy has her Master's degree in Education with a focus in Literacy and Curriculum from the University of Texas- Arlington and a Bachelors degree from The University of North Texas. Her post- baccalaureate studies were in Education from Texas Woman's University in Denton, Texas. She is also certified through the Center for Effective Reading Instruction as a Structured Literacy Dyslexia Specialist as well as a Certified Academic Language Therapist (CALT). She is a Level 5 Master Certified Orton-Gillingham Instructor.
Amy was a reading teacher for 9 years and a dyslexia specialist for a public school system in Texas for 10 years, providing dyslexia services to students identified with dyslexia before becoming the Director of Trainers at The Institute for Multi-Sensory Education (IMSE) as well as a level 5 Master Orton-Gillingham Instructor, training educators all over the country in the Orton-GIllingham approach. She was also the Director of Learning and Development for an educational consulting company while also managing 20+ consultants in schools across the country. She helped lead large-scale consulting projects in various school districts across the country.
Amy recently made a change in her career by wanting a hands-on approach to helping solve the literacy crisis in this country. Amy is an educational consultant and a private tutor.
Amy lives in Evergreen, CO with her partner, Ken and her two dogs, Otto and Oscar.
Amy Pound M.ED, CERI SLCT
Amy Pound has her Master's degree in Education Administration. She is certified by the Center for Effective Reading Instruction as a Structured Literacy Classroom Teacher. She holds endorsements in Special Education and English as A Second Language. She is a certified Orton Gillingham Tutor and Instructor.
Amy has been a Reading Specialist in Jefferson County Public Schools for over 30 years. She has also coached teachers in the practice of Structured Reading. Amy has been a Summer School Principal in the past and an educational leader for students and teachers in grades K-3.
Amy is also an instructor for The Institute for Multi-Sensory Education (IMSE). She is an instructor for teachers all over the country using the Orton Gillingham approach to teaching reading. She is passionate about empowering educators and parents to be change-makers in literacy during this critical time in our children's lives.
Amy lives in Littleton, CO.
Amy will be joining A2 Literacy Tutoring summer of 2025 as a tutor and independent educational consultant.
Dr. Janice Kohler-Curtis CERI SLDI
Janice has been providing structured literacy teaching and training, coaching, and consultation to districts nationwide for 30 years. Dr. Kohler-Curtis is committed to helping state departments of education and higher education, districts, schools, and teachers change the trajectory of their students by improving literacy scores for every child.
With 30 years of experience in education, Janice Kohler-Curtis is a nationally recognized speaker and trainer in the field of literacy and dyslexia. Dr. Kohler-Curtis currently sits on the board of directors as a founding member of The Reading League South Carolina Chapter. Janice is certified through the Center for Effective Reading Instruction (CERI) as a Structured Literacy Dyslexia Interventionist. She is a certified Orton-Gillingham Instructor and Practicum Supervisor. Janice is also LETRS certified in Units 1-8.
Janice was the CAO at The Institute for Multi-Sensory Education (IMSE) and MGT Consulting before starting Literacy By the Sea, a consulting company specializing in reading science. She is also the Director of Curriculum at the Center for Reading Science at Mount St. Joseph University. Before that, Janice was a special education teacher for 20 years, where she successfully implemented Orton-Gillingham with her students and received several awards, including the Walter B. Horn Special Educator of the Year.
Janice achieved high honors while obtaining her bachelor’s degree in Special Education from Kent State University. She graduated summa cum laude from Marygrove College with a master’s degree in the Art of Teaching. Dr. Kohler-Curtis has her doctorate in Reading Science from Mount St. Joseph University in Cincinnati, Ohio, where she maintained a 4.0. The title of her dissertation topic was The Best Approach for Teaching Irregular Words to First-Grade Students.
Janice lives in Summerville, S.C. with her husband, Jason and her two dogs, Whiskey and Harley.

Ingrid Mielke M.A. Administration, Supervision and Curriculum Developement
Ingrid Mielke is a seasoned educator with a distinguished 33-year career, including 25 years as a successful principal in Jefferson County Public Schools. Holding a Bachelor of Arts from Fort Lewis College and a Master of Arts in Administration, Supervision, and Curriculum Development from the University of Colorado Denver, Ingrid possesses a deep understanding of educational best practices and a proven track record of success.
In 2022, Ingrid further enhanced her professional development by receiving a coaching certificate from the International Coaching Federation (ICF). This prestigious credential complements her extensive experience in education, providing her with advanced skills in communication, active listening, and guiding individuals towards achieving their personal and professional goals.
A passionate advocate for student growth, Ingrid believes in fostering strong relationships with educators and families through open communication and a collaborative approach. She prioritizes the academic and social-emotional well-being of every child, adhering to the principle that adults must always prioritize what is best for students. Her leadership philosophy is grounded in three core pillars: relationships, relevance, and rigor.
Renowned for her expertise in gifted education, Ingrid is a strong advocate for twice-exceptional learners. Her leadership has significantly impacted instructional practices across the district, elevating academic standards and fostering a culture of high achievement. Throughout her career, she has actively served on various committees, including principal advisory committees, budget committees, gifted center focus groups, and the Jefferson County Administrative Association.
Under Ingrid's leadership, the school consistently achieved top-tier recognition, earning the prestigious John Irwin Award and Governor's Improvement Award annually. In September 2024, U.S. News and World Report named the school one of the "Best Elementary Schools in Colorado," further solidifying its reputation as a leading institution.
Ingrid is dedicated to implementing evidence-based instructional practices in every classroom, ensuring a consistent and systematic approach to learning. This commitment fosters a dynamic and empowering environment where students can reach their full potential.
Ingrid lives in Lakewood, Colorado, where she enjoys spending time with her two daughters and two furry companions. When not engaged in her professional pursuits, she enjoys exploring the outdoors through hiking and biking, traveling to new destinations, curling and occasionally challenging herself on the pickleball court with her daughters (though she may or may not admit defeat gracefully).

Suzanne Holstein M.A. in Special Education; CERI SLCT
Suzanne has been a Special Educator for 15 years. She holds a Master’s in Special Education from Hood College and a Master’s in Montessori Elementary Education from Loyola University. Suzanne developed and implemented a Tier 1 Special Education program for a charter school in the DC metro area. Suzanne is a CERI certified Structured Literacy Classroom Teacher (SLCT).
Trained in the Orton-Gillingham approach, Suzanne specializes in supporting children and adults with dyslexia. Her extensive experience includes teaching, coaching special education teachers, and guiding parents on how to support their children academically and at home.
On a personal note, Suzanne is a mother of two daughters and a grandmother of two. Having raised a daughter with dyslexia and ADHD, Suzanne understands the challenges and rewards of navigating special education both in school and at home. She currently resides in Virginia.
Elizabeth Gulley B.A. International Relations
Liz is a dedicated and highly organized administrative assistant with 3 years of experience supporting executives, teams, and departments across various industries. She is IMSE Orton-Gillingham trained and Level 5 TEFL certified with experience in the classroom. Known for attention to detail and exceptional multitasking abilities, Liz is proficient in managing schedules, coordinating meetings, handling correspondence, and providing excellent customer service.
Skilled in office management software and tools like Microsoft Office Suite, Salesforce, and project management platforms, Liz excels at streamlining processes to improve efficiency and workflow. With a strong communication style and a commitment to maintaining a positive, productive office environment, Liz is an integral part of the team, ensuring seamless operations and top-notch support.
Liz lives in Denver, CO. with her partner, Bradley and their cat, Dennis.
Outside of work, Liz enjoys yoga, hiking, rock climbing, and art and is committed to continuous learning and professional growth.
